Just in time for New Year’s, Western Athletic Clubs has made a new resolution. Effective immediately, the operator of private luxury athletic clubs and sports resorts in California will now be known as The Bay Club Company. In keeping with the aim of helping members reach their own transformative goals, current management will continue to run the clubs with their trademark hospitality, culture and operating values. Said President and Chief Executive Officer Matthew Stevens, “The Bay Club has been an iconic brand in San Francisco for decades. We are proud to extend this name to our company to pay homage to the distinctive brand The Bay Club name represents.”

Eight of the Company’s sports resort campuses and clubs already bear the Bay Club name, including Bay Club Marin, Bay Club Ross Valley, Bay Club San Francisco, Bay Club Santa Clara, Bay Club SF Financial District, Bay Club SF Tennis, Bay Club Silicon Valley, and Bay Club at the Gateway. To reflect the update, the Company’s three all-inclusive sports resort destinations will change their names as follows:

  • Courtside, A Pacific Sports Resort will now be Bay Club Courtside
  • Pacific Sports Resort Redwood Shores will now be Bay Club Redwood Shores
  • Pacific Sports Resort San Diego will now be Bay Club Carmel Valley
