More than 150 exhibitors will be on hand next week at the 65th NIRSA Annual Conference and Recreational Sports Exposition in Nashville.
The conference will take place April 23-26 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. The expo hall will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, and from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 24. In addition to the expo hall, more than 140 educational sessions and roundtables are scheduled, covering college and university recreation.
Author Connie Podesta will give the opening general session keynote on April 23, and former NIRSA President Tony Clements will give the closing general session address on April 26.
Ninety-five awards will be given at NIRSA 2014. The NIRSA Honor Award will be presented posthumously to the University of Virginia's Mark Fletcher, who was a member of NIRSA for 32 years until his death in 2009. The NIRSA Foundation 5th Annual Mark Fletcher Fun Run/Walk will take place the morning of April 26.
The NIRSA Foundation, which will hold its 20th annual golf tournament on April 23, supported 68 members for this year's conference through scholarships or travel stipends.
This is the first of four NIRSA conferences associated with Gaylord Hotels. The next three NIRSA conferences will be in Dallas; Orlando, FL; and Washington, DC.
