FORT COLLINS, CO -- Renovations to the Colorado State University (CSU) student recreation center began on April 13.
The first phase of construction, slated to be done by January 2010, includes a new entrance and lobby for the rec center as well as the addition of a climbing wall, meeting rooms, massage rooms and court space.
Funding for the project is part of a CSU campus bond that was secured in June 2008. The rec center construction project was approved by the school's student fee review board in February 2008, Associated Students of Colorado State University in April 2008 and the CSU Board of Governors in May 2008.
Student programming and access to the rec center will continue during construction, school officials say.
