Weight Loss Can Alleviate Arthritis

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK—Overweight adults who lose 5 percent of their body weight can reduce the disease-specific pain and reduce the amount of disability caused by osteoarthritis, a common form of inflammatory joint disease. Researchers from the HS Frederiksberg Hospital
evaluated 23 studies involving 500 subjects and concluded that the participants experienced less pain and disability when they lost weight.
