Sport & Health and U.S. Masters Swimming today announced that 14 Sport & Health Washington, D.C. area locations will offer Masters Swimming® programs, providing greater access and opportunity for adults to swim. Each location will offer a coach instructor who has completed level one and level two of the U.S. Masters Swimming Coach Certification Program. Certified coaches will be offering up to six practices a week.
"We've had adult swimming programs at several locations for some time, however it was time to standardize as an official USMS program and launch it across all our clubs. The success of our Regency program is the basis for our model," says Tamara Yaunches, Corporate Director of Aquatics for Sport & Health. "We're excited about our partnership with USMS as it creates an environment of success for our members to pursue lifelong fitness through swimming."
"Pool access and swimming with a qualified Masters Swimming instructor is the most important benefit we can provide to USMS members," says Bill Brenner, club and coach services director for U.S. Masters Swimming. "Our USMS Coach Certification Program will empower Sport & Health Club instructors to provide professional instruction to adult swimmers of all ability levels and create an atmosphere of learning, health, well-being and fun."
Programs will be held at the Bethesda, Brambleton, Crystal Park, Fredericksburg, Gainesville, Lakeforest, North Frederick, Regency, Rio, Skyline, Tenley, Tysons, Woodbridge, and Worldgate locations.
