Celebrated at the annual Snap Fitness International Conference, the world’s leading franchisor of 24/7 express fitness centers awarded eight different owners and ownership teams from the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia with recognition of outstanding performance as the Founder’s Award recipient, Franchisees of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Canadian Franchisee of the Year, and International Developer of the Year.

Receiving the reputable Founder’s Award this year was Wayne Sato, owner of three locations in Winnipeg. The Founder’s Award was established to recognize a franchisee’s ability to own and operate a Snap Fitness location while successfully executing day-to-day operations, maintaining an active presence in the community and providing exceptional customer service.

In a similar category, Snap Fitness CEO and founder, Peter Taunton, recognized outstanding performances with Franchisee of the Year awards for owners in Texas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland:

·         Neal and Becky Janke, owners of the Snap Fitness location in Lockhart, Texas

·         Stephen and Dennis Frazier, owners of a Columbus, New Jersey location

·         John and Karen Stockton, owners of the Douglassville, Pennsylvania location

·         Michelle Lelwica, owner of two Snap Fitness locations in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota

In addition to the Founders and Franchisee of the Year awards, Taunton also presented Darrin Strauch and Leon McNiece with the International Developer of the Year award for their growth and management of more than 100 locations throughout Australia and New Zealand. Adam and Nancy Verburg with two locations in Toronto, Ontario were presented with the Canadian Franchisee of the Year award, and Dennis Maldonado received the Rookie Franchisee of the Year Award with his first location in Los Lunas, New Mexico.

“The success of our brand and our ability to continue to expand nationally and internationally is due in large part to the dedication and passion of our franchisees,” said Taunton. “Being able to recognize such outstanding talent and drive within our system is inspiring.  We hold each of our franchise owners to the highest of standards. Seeing individuals like those honored at the recent conference hold themselves to an even higher standard, surpassing our own, is what moves the brand forward and keeps it strong.”
