Millennium Partners CEO Smaiyra Million will be one of five inductees along with a lifetime achievement award recipient honored at the 20th Annual Academy of Women Achievers Celebration Luncheon on June 18 in Boston.
Smaiyra Million, CEO of Millennium Partners Sports Club Management, Boston, has been inducted into YWCA Boston's Academy of Women Achievers.
Million will be one of five inductees along with a lifetime achievement award recipient honored at the 20th Annual Academy of Women Achievers Celebration Luncheon on June 18 in Boston.
Established in 1995, the Academy of Women Achievers honors women in the Boston area and the state of Massachusetts who have demonstrated leadership and achievement in their professional and civic lives.
"I am deeply honored to be part of YWCA's Academy of Women Achievers," Million said in a statement to Club Industry. "This recognition is much more about the many contributions women of all walks of life make to our communities, rather than any one of us singularly. Over the past 30 years, I have been inspired by the diverse and vibrant employees I have had the pleasure of working with, who come to work every day to make a difference in people's lives. I am profoundly grateful to my family, both biological and in business, as well as the many mentors who have guided me along the way. I am touched by the tribute."
Million has been part of Sports Club/LA since 1998, serving as a general manager and later as a regional vice president. Million became chief operating officer of Millennium Partners Sports Club Management when it was founded in 2006. She was promoted to CEO of the company in 2011.
Millennium Partners Sports Club Management operates seven The Sports Club/LA clubs in Boston, New York, Miami, San Francisco and Washington, DC. Last year, the company was No. 12 on Club Industry's Top 100 Clubs list with a reported $96 million in 2012 revenue.
