Spinning®, the creators of the indoor cycling category and the global leader in programming, education and bikes, today announced its support of the American Heart Association, a non-profit organization with a mission to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. As part of its social responsibility fundraising initiative known as Spinning Nation, Spinning will activate more than 200,000 certified instructors, 35,000 fitness facilities, and countless Spinning participants with a goal of raising $250,000 for the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement.
“Spinning is more than an exercise program and bike. It’s a community of dedicated, health-minded individuals who care about overall health, wellness and disease prevention,” said John Baudhuin, President and CEO of Mad Dogg Athletics. “The American Heart Association collaboration made perfect sense to us. We want to support an organization that has been on the frontlines, generating awareness around the prevention of heart disease, which is the number one killer of women.”
Spinning will spend the next several months mobilizing certified instructors and facilities to help realize the Spinning Nation vision. On April 26, riders can partake in a national Spinning class to raise funds for cardiovascular health at their local facility. The extended Spinning class will offer an exciting, fundraising challenge and serve as a reminder of what a healthy heart can accomplish in endurance, compassion and philanthropy. One hundred percent of the funds raised as part of Spinning Nation will go to the American Heart Association.

The minimum entry donation for each Spinning Nation participant is $50 per hour, and Spinning will reward top fundraisers with custom Spinner® Bikes to: the top five grossing gym facilities, the top five per capita/participant (average) gym facilities and the top five individual fundraisers. Spinning’s website will also feature apparel to celebrate the partnership including jerseys, t-shirts, and water bottles, with 20% of those proceeds to go to The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women campaign.
After 20 successful years as a renowned fitness program with a global following, Spinning has recently undergone a comprehensive rebrand to cement its position as the worldwide leader in indoor cycling.
