DETROIT-- Powerhouse Gyms International, and Cy Sports Corp. have signed a master licensee agreement that will extend the Powerhouse Gym brand throughout the Asian market, the gym chain said. Cy Sports owns and operates four locations and have already converted the locations to operate under the Powerhouse Gym brand.

“Our expansion plan is clear, well defined and based on realistic, calculated goals. Moreover, Cy Sports Corp. has a thorough understanding of the fitness industry in China”, said William Dabish, co-founder of the Powerhouse Gym brand, which originated in 1974.

Cy Sports Corp. will be expanding its company by opening new clubs and employing both national and international professionals to help reach its aggressive national expansion plans.

The Cy Sports Powerhouse Gym facilities all are multi-purpose clubs ranging from 25,000 square feet to 50,000 square feet with plans to open a 100,000 sq foot fitness facility on the Olympic site in Tianjin, the company said.
