TAICHUNG, TAIWAN -- Johnson Health Tech Ltd., manufacturer of Matrix Fitness products, announced results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2006, with sales growth for its commercial fitness products at 42.8 percent. Net sales for all categories were $75.5 million, compared to 2005 first quarter sales of $65 million, an increase of 16.15 percent. Net income was $11.88 million, compared to $10 million, an increase of 18.88 percent.
“This 42 percent growth in commercial business shows that Matrix has established itself as a preferred brand worldwide,” Kent Stevens, Matrix Fitness vice president of sales, said. “Proven quality backed by our Customer Advantage Program, innovative new product releases and recent key additions to our North American sales team will help us to maintain this pace.”
Commercials sales are expected to accelerate with the launch of the H5x Hybrid Cycle Demo program that begins in June. The H5x Hybrid Cycle is the next generation fitness cycle with the step-through entry and 45 degree seat adjustment.
“Our dealers and club buyers are excited to have an innovative alternative to traditional upright and recumbent cycles,” said Kevin Mast, product manager. “The new Hybrid Cycle has been well received in both domestic and international markets; we are now expecting Hybrid sales to exceed our original planned target for 2006.”
