RICHMOND HEIGHTS, OH — FitWorks Fitness Centers has announced plans to expand its fitness network to 15 locations by opening two new facilities in its Ohio base.

Both facilities — one in Willoughby and one in Beechmont — were scheduled to open Nov. 15, with a week of special events scheduled through Nov. 22. The Willoughby location will bring the number of FitWorks locations in the Cleveland area to eight, while the Beechmont locale will bring the Cincinnati count to seven.

According to Mike Cross, marketing director for FitWorks, opening the two new clubs is part of a much larger goal for the chain.

“We want to help create healthier communities,” he said. “By providing an affordable fitness center for real people and convenient access to state-of-the-art equipment, we can accomplish this goal.”

Among the features in these clubs are two cinema rooms — a cardio cinema that allows people to watch movies while they work out, and a sports/news cardio cinema that plays sports and news programming. Other amenities include free weight, cardiovascular and circuit areas; physical therapy; sports performance training; personal training; basketball; group exercise room; hydro massage; oxygen bar; women's-only workout room; supervised children's playland; group cycling room; and tanning.
