NATIONWIDE — Construction is underway on new health clubs, YMCAs and JCCs nationwide. Here are some of the projects planned or under construction:
A new Jewish Community Center will be built on 15 acres of land in Cincinnati, OH. The proposed multi-million dollar facility will cover 148,000 square feet and feature a fitness center, aquatics center, gym and an expanded senior center. Construction will begin in January 2006, and the center will open in late summer of 2007.
Cayuga Medical Center and Ciaschi Development are teaming up to introduce a medical fitness center in Ithaca, NY. The 65,000-square-foot complex will house a 35,000-square-foot fitness center with large exercise areas and three pools.
The YMCA of Metropolitan Minneapolis and the City of Andover have partnered to build a $20 million YMCA in Andover, MN. The YMCA (pictured in the rendering above) will feature a health and wellness center, aquatics center and children's gym.
The new South Loop Fitplex, a 30,000-square-foot health, fitness and spa center was recently completed. The fitness complex is located within a new luxury residential development in Chicago's South Loop.
