BOULDER, Colo. - Schwinn Cycling & Fitness is launching a "Building Membership" program for clubs in conjunction with the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA, Boston).
The goal of the program is to help clubs reach IHRSA's goal of 50 million health club members by 2010.

KIRKLAND, Wash. - StairMaster Sports/Medical Products Inc. appointed Rene C. Jaggi chairman of the board. Outgoing chairman John Rutledge will continue to serve on the StairMaster board of directors.
"The appointment of Mr. Jaggi to the role of chairman for our company is a huge coup for StairMaster," said Tom Bryant, president of StairMaster. "To add his years of board-level, industry, international and operating experiences to out board, and to continue to have Mr. Rutledge playing a key role will enhand an already strong team."
Jaggi will continue to be based in Basle, Switzerland, whewre he is chairman and woner of Jstracon AG, a Swiss-based holding company. Previously, he spent seven years as president/CEO of Adidas; zone manager-Central Europe for Duracell AG/Dart + Kraft in Basle, Cologne, London, United States and Japan; sales manager of Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa for R.J. Reynolds; and sales and marketing director for W.R. Grace Chemicals.

Meanwhile, DataCard Corp. agreed to sell its Financial Systems POS subsidary to IVI Checkmate of Atlanta. The acquisition will result in IVI Checkmate gaining footholds in several new strategic markets, the company reported.
