Life Time Fitness, Chanhassen, MN, recently received two honors, including one from a sister publication of Club Industry.
Nutrition Business Journal (NBJ), which like Club Industry is owned by Penton Media, awarded Life Time with the Management Achievement Award for its initiative to banish processed and artificial food products from its LifeCafé locations.
Last October, Life Time transformed its LifeCafé menu to feature healthier food items in all 85 of its LifeCafés. The company says the new menu offers pre-prepared, made-to-order and packaged products free of trans fats, bleached flours, and artificial flavors, colors, preservatives and sweeteners.
NBJ publisher Patrick Rea, along with Editor-in-Chief Marc Brush, will honor Life Time and other award recipients at the NBJ Summit on July 25 in Dana Point, CA.
Life Time Fitness also has been named the Private Facility of the Year by Racquet Sports Industry magazine, which cited Life Time for its full complement of tennis programs and services, online and in-person tennis communities and continued vision forward, including added budget to improve tennis facilities, programs and services.
Life Time says it is the largest manager of indoor tennis facilities in the United States—16 of its 105 clubs have dedicated tennis courts and programs. Last year, the company acquired Atlanta's Racquet Club of the South, expanding its tennis operations to 158 courts and 211 certified tennis professionals. Life Time announced today expanded plans to remodel the club, which is named Life Time Athletic at Peachtree Corners.
