LEAP Fitness is proud to announce the arrival of new Chief Executive Officer Bobby Verdun. Verdun brings extensive experience heading successful teams and businesses throughout the country. He has invigorated organizations with award winning programming, innovative cost-cutting initiatives, and has been recognized as one of the health and wellness industry leaders on both a national and international level.
Most recently, as Senior Partner at Atwood Consulting Group, Verdun led new business initiatives that nearly tripled net profits from previous years. Prior to his position with Atwood, Verdun served in Executive roles at the award winning Weymouth Club, the Tennis Center at College Park, where he directed a dramatic turnaround from an 80K deficit to a healthy fiscal year profit, and oversaw the successful $10 million renovation of the Pawtucket YMCA. A former College basketball and tennis coach, Bobby was twice named New England Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year and was a Boston Globe coach of the year in 1999.
States Verdun: “A great wellness experience starts and ends with great people. It’s the ultimate differentiator an something that I was immediately drawn to after spending time with Herve and his team. I believe we have an opportunity to develop an exceptional member experience at each of our neighborhood venues and truly make a difference in each community we become part of. That’s what it is all about.. not just the success of the club.. but the success of the community because of the club. Herve had this vision... my job will be to make it happen.”
Verdun’s appointment is the latest in a string of move’s by LEAP’s new owner Herve Sedky to revitalize the brand and establish a deeper relationship with the communities it serves. Sedky, a former American Express executive who purchased the clubs in 2013, recognized LEAP’s potential.
Now with Verdun at the helm, Sedky has pledged that long needed upgrades will be felt in each of the three locations, in addition to new class offerings and cleaner facilities as a whole. “This is a new era for LEAP,” says Sedky. “With Bobby’s leadership, we will build this brand into something people can get excited about. What we’re planning in the coming weeks will prove that we’re serious, that we care, that we’re committed to trying things few have done before.”
