The Houstonian Club announces the addition of Denise Hernandez as a registered, licensed dietitian to its Nutrition Department, where she is responsible for advising members and guests of all ages on issues of nutrition counseling, diet analysis, meal planning and good shopping education.
“I am so excited to join The Houstonian and work with its members and guests who already are interested in proper nutrition, which is vital for sustaining a healthy lifestyle,” Hernandez said. “Fueling your body with the right foods will enhance your ability to live longer, stay active and feel great every day!”
Hernandez joins The Houstonian after working as corporate dietitian for My Fit Foods, where she served as the company’s nutrition and wellness expert. She has published articles and educational materials, and presents lectures on various topics of health and wellness.
Hernandez earned a bachelor’s degree in biological and physical sciences from the University of Houston – Downtown, and completed her master’s degree in nutrition from Texas Woman’s University. She currently is acquiring the Certified Specialist certification in Sports Dietetics, and is an active member of the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition dietetic practice group and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
“We are delighted to have Denise join our team at The Houstonian Club,” said Mark Stevens, regional director of The Houstonian Health Clubs & Spas. “Her interest in nutrition and wellness fit well with The Houstonian Club’s goal of helping our members and guests achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
