You don’t have to skip your workouts when you’re in Chicago for the Club Industry 2010 show. Both Thursday and Friday offer an opportunity to get your heart rate up—that is, if you can rise and shine by 7 a.m.
From 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, participants can experience Tabata at the Palmer House Hilton. The workout, led by instructors Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of Equinox and Andrea Metcalf, author of “Naked Fitness,” uses 20-second bouts of high-intensity training followed by 10 seconds of rest to help increase athletic performance, boost VO2 max and decrease body fat. But you’ll only be able to see for yourself if you wake up early enough to attend.
The next day, the exhibit hall will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., so you can put that equipment you saw the day before through its paces. Decide for yourself if that new treadmill or elliptical will be a hit with your members.
Early morning exercisers get the bonus of a continental breakfast buffet on the exhibit hall floor.
