It’s been a pretty impressive few weeks for the industry in the mainstream media, hasn’t it?
Zumba Fitness earned the 2012 Company of the Year from Inc. magazine, and Anytime Fitness was ranked No. 6 on Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500 list. IDEA Health and Fitness Association founders Kathie and Peter Davis were featured in Forbes magazine discussing the importance of keeping employees happy. And new Equinox President Sarah Robb O’Hagan, who has been at the helm for all of four months, served as an expert on the top five health and fitness innovations in the industry on Mashable.com’s Innovation Index.
At the end of the month, Jazzercise will be featured on the A&E network’s “Be the Boss” competition-based series from the creators of “Undercover Boss.” The episode will feature two Jazzercise instructors—Kim McCulloch of Minooka, IL, and Sophia Hubbard of Ypsilanti, MI— vying to become a Jazzercise Fitness Center owner. Jazzercise founder and CEO Judi Sheppard Missett, President Shanna Missett Nelson and Chief Marketing and Sales Officer Kelly Sweeney all will appear in the episode, which airs at 10 p.m. ET on Sunday, Dec. 30.
Give yourself a pat on the back, fitness industry. Well done.
