When I was a child, I thought that when I wouldgraduate from college, I would know everything I needed to know, and I would never have to learn anything new again. But, as I soon found out, you never know everything. You continue to learn throughout life.
The world changes quickly. The Internet wasn't around when I was in school, let alone cell phones, texting, social media and many other technologies that we take for granted today. And business changes, too. With the most recent recession, we all had to learn how to be smarter and more efficient in how we do business.
At Club Industry, we understand the importance of constantly learning and changing with the world. That is why we are not just a monthly print magazine, website and weekly e-newsletter. We also offer many educational opportunities for the fitness industry. As most of you know, the Club Industry conference and trade show is moving back to McCormick Place in Chicago this year. We are excited that from Oct. 23-25, we can offer you many educational sessions as well as educational opportunities in the Club Live area of the trade show floor. As next month rolls around, look for specific session topics to be announced on the show section of our website.
And many of you may be familiar with our online columns, Step by Step, which offer advice from industry experts in the areas of general club knowledge, design, marketing, personal training, programming, retention and sales.
Recently, we began offering other educational opportunities for you, including webinars. Our first webinar on how to green your health club to improve profitability had a large audience and can still be viewed for free on our website in case you missed it. We have other webinars in the works, but feel free to email me at email@example.com with your suggestions for webinar topics. Also included in the webinar section of the website are free webinars from some partner companies. Topics include how to implement and manage an annual enhancement fee and what the hottest fitness trend is today.
