I‘ve had quite the productive and informative Thursday morning. After a night of rain and thunder, I was pleasantly surprised to awake to just a few leftover clouds and sunshine. Luckily my hotel room is just a stone‘s throw away from one of the resort‘s pools, so I immediately donned my swimsuit and strolled on down to the “Quiet Pool” (I‘m assuming it‘s not a hot spot for kids) for early morning water aerobics. Even though I teach group ex on dry land, I‘m embarrassed to admit I‘ve never taken aerobics in the water. This was a great first class though.
Rayann Cruz from The Fitness & Day Spa at Florida Hospital Celebration Health led the class. About 10 of us braved the cool morning (by Florida's summer standards) and jumped in the pool ready to move. Rayann had us jumping, skiing, walking and jogging, up and down, left and right. It was a really fun time and a good workout--especially when we performed some balance work by actually standing on the noodle. I wish I‘d braved the aquatics group exercise water sooner! --Jennipher
