It’s time to toot our horn again. A recent survey says Club Industry is the No. 1 source for information in the fitness industry.
The survey was conducted by Michael Scott Scudder, owner of The Fitness Industry Group, Taos, NM, and distributor of the weekly Fitness Business Council e-newsletter. In the survey, respondents representing nearly 650 U.S. for-profit independent fitness facilities were asked where they received their information about U.S. health club trends, management, marketing, operations and specific subjects of interest. Decision-makers (including owners, general managers and investment partners) consisted of 91 percent of the respondents, who could mark down as many of the nine choices before them.
Club Industry, including our conference and magazine, was marked by 82 percent of the respondents, making us the No. 1 source on the survey. The International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) conference and magazine (Club Business International) was marked by 65 percent, followed by Club Solutions magazine (39 percent), the Fitness Business Council’s newsletters, webcasts and surveys (34 percent) and Athletic Business magazine (31 percent). The rest of the choices on the list were at 14 percent or below, according to Scudder.
