Planet Fitness (http://www.planetfitness.com/), the nation's leading health club chain, announced it will be opening a new club in Toledo, at 2630 West Laskey Road, located in the former Food Basics. The club officially opens on December 4 and is offering special grand opening memberships for just $1 down through the end of the month.

The 28,000 square-foot former space of Food Basics has been gutted and transformed into a state-of-the-art facility. It will be fully staffed and open 24-hours five days a week, 7am-7pm on weekends, and will feature an extensive selection of cardio equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, arc trainers, and stationary bikes. Every cardio machine is connected to an entertainment system consisting of multiple widescreen HD televisions. Planet Fitness also offers upper and lower body strength machines, a 30-minute PF Express circuit, and a 12-minute ab circuit. The club includes a PF Spa, with multi-level tanning, Total Body Enhancement Therapy, HydroMassage beds and massage chairs. Plus, a certified fitness trainer will be on staff weekdays, at no additional charge.

"We're proud to bring another new club to the area," said Rief. "Our mission is to offer anyone and everyone a friendly, non-intimidating atmosphere to exercise at a very affordable price." Prices at Planet Fitness are extremely low, and start at just $10 a month. Planet Fitness stands apart from other clubs, providing a relaxed atmosphere and a low tolerance for bodybuilders. Committed to helping people of various fitness levels, clubs have a Lunk Alarm, which is an actual beacon light and siren intended to deter members from the hard-core, look-at-me behavior found in too many gyms.
