Orangetheory® Fitness (http://www.orangetheoryfitness.com), the energizing interval fitness franchise and first to use heart-rate-monitored training for scientifically proven results, has doubled the stakes in its annual 6-Week National Weight Loss Challenge for 2014. Thousands of men and women will not only transform their bodies with Orangetheory Fitness, they will also compete for the chance to win $25,000 in cash. The competition kicks off on January 17 at participating studios across the country.

"This is our third annual National Weight Loss Challenge, and it's better than ever. It's always amazing to see the transformation of thousands of participants as they lose weight and become stronger. This year, contestants will also compete for our biggest-ever prizes, and we know that anyone who accepts the Challenge will see results," said David Long, CEO at Orangetheory Fitness.

Participants in the Challenge must attend a minimum of three 60-minute Orangetheory Fitness sessions per week, with a goal of showing the greatest improvement over the course of the contest. At the end of the 6-Week Challenge, the top female and male contestants among all participating Orangetheory Fitness studios, determined by percentage of weight loss, will be declared the national winners, each receiving $10,000 in cash. The runner-up female and male will each receive $2,500 in cash. Many participating studios are also awarding prizes to local winners. See complete details and register at http://bit.ly/14otfwlc, or at participating Orangetheory Fitness studios across the country. Space is limited.

Orangetheory Fitness is the first franchise to use heart-rate monitors to personalize the group training experience, keeping participants in a target zone that stimulates metabolism and increases energy. Each unique 60-minute session combines high-intensity intervals of cardiovascular and strength training, producing a tremendous metabolic increase and burning up to 900 calories per session, with extra calorie burn for up to 36 hours after each workout. High-intensity interval training was just named the number-one worldwide fitness trend for 2014 by the American College of Sports Medicine. Visit http://bit.ly/hiitis1 for details.
