A Kingsport, TN, man was fatally stabbed last night outside the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA facility.
Police say the victim, Huey Stanley, Jr., 22, of Kingsport, showed up at a local hospital at about 10:40 p.m. suffering from stab wounds and subsequently died from his injuries.
This morning, a suspect, Zachary Morris Gardner, 21, of Kingsport, turned himself in for questioning after witnesses identified him as a person of interest. He has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the Kingsport City Jail, police announced in a news release.
The stabbing occurred last night allegedly during a quarrel between the two men in the parking lot of the Y. Police say they recovered a knife at the crime scene, and investigators are investigating whether it is the weapon used in the stabbing.
