MINNEAPOLIS — President George W. Bush appointed Jerry V. Noyce, CEO and president of Health Fitness Corporation, as a member of the President's Council of Sports and Fitness.

Noyce will serve his two-year term on the council with other members including Mary Lou Retton, Andy Roddick, Eli Manning, Denise Austin and Donna Richardson Joyner.

“In today's environment of spiraling health care costs and where we must make more progress in the three-front battle against obesity, smoking and physical inactivity, the work of the council has never been more important,” Noyce said. “I intend to be a very active participant in helping my colleagues on the council to do what we can and must to accelerate our progress in this battle.”
