TUALATIN, OR -- The woman who was killed in an apparent murder-suicide Tuesday in Oregon was a group exercise instructor for 24 Hour Fitness.
Teresa Beiser worked at several 24 Hour clubs in the Portland, OR, area, the company said in a statement.
“24 Hour Fitness is deeply saddened by the loss of Teresa Beiser,” the company said. “Teresa was a valuable member of our team for more than five years, and she will be greatly missed. We extend our condolences to her family and friends.”
Beiser, 36, was working Tuesday at her full-time job at a drug-testing clinic in Tualatin, OR, when her estranged husband, Robert Beiser, allegedly shot and killed her and injured two others before turning the gun on himself, according to news reports.
Teresa Beiser filed for divorce last week from her husband of 15 years. She also was a bodybuilder and recently placed second in the novice women’s lightweight category of a local competition. The Beisers left behind a daughter, 14, and a son, 11.
