Lady of America Acquired

Trivest Partners announced that it acquired a controlling interest in Lady of America Franchise Corp.

“We welcome and appreciate our new partnership with Trivest. We strongly believe that our 800-plus franchisees will immediately see the benefit of guidance, leadership and support that few franchisors in the fitness industry have ever been able to provide to franchisees,” Roger Wittenberns, founder of Lady of America, said in a release. “Our first order of business will be adding a strong field support system focusing directly on increasing franchisee profits.”

As part of the acquisition, Charles Cavuto, currently the international franchise director of Lady of America will become president, and Mark Kacer will become the CFO. Kacer was previously CFO at vFinance Inc. and Equinox Systems.

Based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Lady of America Franchise Corp. is the second largest franchisor of women-only fitness centers. The company operates the brands Lady of America, Ladies Workout Express, Health Clubs of America and Workout Express.

Trivest Partners is a Miami-based provider of equity for middle-market corporate acquisitions, recapitalizations and growth capital financings.
