Gold's Plans Growth

DALLAS, TX — In 2005, Gold's Gym International signed deals to open 76 new facilities, keeping it on pace towards its goal of 1,000 franchised clubs by 2010. The company operates more than 620 gyms in 42 states and 27 countries.

The growth propelled Gold's from number 144 on Entrepreneur's Franchise 500 ranking to number 76 in 2006.

“What's probably most impressive about our growth in 2005 is that it came during a year when we focused just as heavily on transitioning gyms out of the Gold's system that did not meet our standards,” says Keith Albright, senior vice president of franchising for Gold's.

In 2005, Gold's also added an online sales and operations training program and geo-mapping software.
