SAN DIEGO — The American Council on Exercise (ACE) didn't have to look far for its new president. After a year without anyone in that post, last month ACE promoted Scott Goudeseune to president. Goudeseune has been with the organization since 2000 and has been ACE's chief operating officer since July 2005.

“Following a thorough and global search process, Scott clearly stands out as a dynamic leader who has a proven successful track record in operations and business development,” said Terry L. Bazzarre, ACE board chair and senior program officer of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. “Through his effort, ACE will continue to have a very important role in the future shaping of national and state-wide health and fitness policy.”

Goudeseune has more than 20 years of operations, sales and marketing experience. He previously served as ACE vice president of sales and business development. In 2003, he became vice president of operations and most recently served as COO.

During his tenure with the organization, ACE has earned accreditation by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and has expanded key business relationships with leaders inside and outside the fitness industry, Bazzarre said.
