MVP Sports Clubs opened its eleventh facility, MVP Athletic Club, at 115 Crahen Avenue in the Orchard Hills community of Grand Rapids on June 2.
The company invested in a complete overhaul of the former Orchard Hills Swim & Sports Club, which it acquired earlier this year through a land transaction, developing it into a full‐service member‐based fitness facility. MVP Sports Clubs has more than 40,000 members and employs more than 1,100 team members in Central Florida and West Michigan.
“We’re excited to open MVP Athletic Club on Crahen to the community,” said MVP Sports Clubs President Karl Droppers. “Historically, this has been a great outdoor pool destination, and we are equally excited about the completely transformed interior athletic club space. MVP is thrilled to continue our growth with our seventh facility in the West Michigan area.”
“This will be a destination facility with a unique vibe where many goals will be achieved and dreams realized,” added Benny Hardouin, MVP Athletic Club director of operations. “It will be a place of which the Ada, Cascade and Forest Hills communities will be proud.”
The new 80,500 square foot MVP Athletic Club features:
- State‐of‐the‐art cardiovascular and strength training equipment
- Functional training and sports performance training turf area
- Three (3) studios for daily mind/body, cycling, strength and cardio classes
- Locker facility with free daily lockers, private locker rental, laundry options and sauna
- Five (5) indoor tennis courts
- One (1) indoor basketball court
- Supervised area for children, infant to 11 years
- Outdoor aquatic center featuring lap pool with twisty slide, zero‐entry family area with wading pool, kid’s activity pool and concessions
- Outdoor tennis with 12 hard courts and other recreation including basketball, pickleball and sand volleyball
