Leaders in Mindful Movement™, Merrithew Health & Fitness™ (MH&F), will be commencing their worldwide symposium series, The Mindful Movement World Tour, taking a hand-picked team of sought-after Master and Lead Instructor Trainers to global cities sharing the latest in exercise science. The first stop of the tour will take place in Cologne, Germany, April 4 - 6 on the heels of FIBO (the leading international trade show for fitness, wellness and health) attracting dedicated fitness professionals.

In addition to sharing the newest innovations in the industry, MH&F is charting the path for creating, educating and supporting new mind-body modalities. Modalities that include and are influenced by other fitness practices such as functional fitness, fascial fitness and high intensity interval training. The tour looks to inspire fitness professionals to broaden their perception of mindful movement and will exhibit how mind-body modalities will benefit every type of exerciser, not just the ‘zen’ set of the population.

“It’s a revolutionary time in the mindful movement industry,” shares Lindsay G. Merrithew, CEO and President of Merrithew Health & Fitness. “When we started during the 1980s, Pilates was far from mainstream. We recognized the importance of making the mind-body connection and our premier brand, STOTT PILATES®, in addition, to putting Pilates on the map, also played a role in creating a new fitness category – mindful movement. We’ve seen the industry evolve to this style of exercise becoming incredibly popular and now we’re growing the mind-body classification to encompass other popular training styles such as interval training and functional fitness attracting even elite athletes. Leading the effort, our Mindful Movement World Tour will encourage others to look at the mind-body fitness continuum with much more breadth.”

“Having trained more than 38,000 instructors worldwide, we are appealing to a broader range of fitness professionals and consumers, showing that mind-body exercise truly is for every category of individual with an interest in movement,” notes Moira Merrithew, Executive Director, Education. “Our commitment to safe, responsible exercise is unwavering, but now we’re able to adapt and incorporate mindful movement into emerging training styles while still focusing on proper biomechanics and delivering effective workouts that are results-oriented.”

The three-day symposium will allow attendees to tailor the event to suit their needs, offering a selection of more than 10 different workshops and foundational courses from MH&F’s lineup of premium branded programs, including: STOTT PILATES®, ZEN•GA™ and CORE™ Athletic Conditioning & Performance Training™ plus Halo® Training. Programs will be led by MH&F’s team of elite Master Instructor Trainers, including: Kim Kraushar and PJ O'Clair.
