Technogym, Cessena, Italy, previewed its Technogym Ecosystem and a new line of 30 pieces of networked and environmentally friendly equipment at the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association trade show last week in Las Vegas. The Technogym Ecosystem integrates the company's new Artis line, its Unity interface and the company's mywellnesscloud open platform—while also being eco-friendly. A select group of customers and media were allowed to preview the offerings in a room outside the trade show floor at the Mandalay Bay.
Technogym Ecosystem offers a range of interconnected products, services, content and programs for the management of members' wellness lifestyle inside and outside the club, according to the company. The line's open platform allows clubs to offer members "wellness on the go" packages and connect with them on any Technogym equipment anywhere in the world or via personal devices, such as through mywellness key, mobile phone, tablet, smart TV or personal computer. While training, users' mobile devices track their data and push it to the network that returns personalized feedback on physiological parameters and training results via users' mobile devices. Users also can socialize and send messages to other people using Technogym equipment at the same time and share data with the online communities.
The Artis equipment includes a complete cardio line (treadmill, elliptical, vario, bike, recline), 19 strength pieces and six functional stations (now with equipment displays) as well as Omnia, Technogym's personal training space. Members will be able to access the Technogym Ecosystem on the Artis line by using Unity, Technogym's android-based interface on the cardio equipment console. The platform is open to millions of developers who will be able to use dedicated APIs to design their applications, and upon approval of Technogym, those applications will be available to operators in the Unity Store, the professional application Technogym developed to connect fitness and wellness operators with worldwide app developers.
End users will be able to log into Unity to find personal training programs, training data track records, web bookmarks and social networks. Unity is the only console in the market fitted with a web camera to allow video calls while training.
The Artis line has a patent-pending technology that makes it environmentally friendly. The treadmill brushless motor technology combined with low friction materials reduce energy consumption by 30 percent compared to best-in-class treadmills. The physical activity performed on Artis is recycled to power equipment displays on both the cardio and strength equipment. The human energy produced during the exercise is used to power the gym, too.
Artis is the first fully integrated collection of 30 cardio, strength and functional products, according to Technogym.
