LOS ANGELES - Manduka announced today that it has hit a major sustainability milestone, recycling over six million plastic bottles to date in its series of revolutionary yoga towels, yogitoes. The first performance towel designed specifically for yoga, yogitoes features a patented Skidless Technology T, a super absorbent, hygienic layer and are uniquely created with single use plastic bottles and over 50% recycled fiber content. The news comes alongside the launch of the brand's Summer collection where yogitoes takes a front seat in its new print family, Mystique.

The Manduka Mystique collection is inspired by the practice of yoga's ability to invoke awe and mystery of the universe. Hand-dyed to create an aura of natural beauty, the artisanal yogitoes towels are carefully designed for visual appeal as much as they are function.  Each yogitoes towel is made from (no fewer than) eight discarded plastic bottles, which are woven into 50% recycled poly yarn content that requires 2/3 less energy to produce. The towels feature patented silicone nubs for ultimate wet and dry grip, without slip while remaining supremely soft, hygienic and absorbent. The Mystique yogitoes collection will be offered in five vibrant hues including Continuum (lavender), Element (green), Foresight (pink), Oceana (turquoise) and Odyssey (blue) using Azo, lead and heavy metal-free dyes.

"At Manduka we continuously push the boundaries in sustainability and our yogitoes towels are an incredible testament to this," said Manduka CEO, Sky Meltzer. "Less than 10% of recyclable materials actually get recycled. Knowing we have rescued over six million plastic bottles from our oceans and landfills is definitely a proud moment and we hope it inspires others every time they step on the mat."

Taking the concept off the mat, the Manduka Mystique print is brought to life in two new additions to its Journey On bag and carrier family, the Freeform and the To & Fro. A timeless yet thoughtfully reimagined tote to comfortably carry any size mat, the Freeform is a beautiful, versatile carryall for any yogi on the move. Made from 100% cotton canvas with intentionally placed interior pockets to store valuables, the bespoke tote is a perfect way to simplify without sacrifice. The To & Fro is a traditionally profiled top-loading bag with authentic style and eco-friendly performance. Designed for daily practice and perfect for travel, the To & Fro is crafted from strong, durable, 100% natural cotton canvas and features an easy-to-use drawstring closure and comfortable shoulder strap.

Manduka's summer releases round out with two limited edition colors in its lifetime guaranteed, legendary PRO mat line - Quantum (a two-tone metallic) and Order (a two toned lavender/orange). See the complete summer collection here: http://www.manduka.com/us/summer15
