Jury Finds in Favor of Precor
SEATTLE - A jury here has awarded Precor Inc. $5.25 million in damages for willful infringement of its treadmill design patent by Life Fitness. The jury also found that Life Fitness competed unfairly in the marketing of its cushioned deck treadmills. Finally, the jury found that Life Fitness's cushioned deck treadmill was limited to a 1991 filing date, which meant that Precor's treadmills could not have infringed it.
