SANTA ROSA, CA — Operating a women-only club in California has gotten more complicated after a judge ruled that Body Central, a women-only club in Santa Rosa, CA, had not complied with his ruling. The owner of the club, Shannon Hartnett, had been ordered to provide a men's locker room after California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing filed a lawsuit against the facility for violating the state's anti-discrimination law. The lawsuit and several others against area women-only clubs occurred after Phillip Kottle said he asked to join the facilities and was denied membership. If Hartnett doesn't comply with the judge's order by Jan. 31, she will be fined $50 a day.
