Good news from the club industry
* Mindy Mylrea and Julie McNeney for receiving two of the highest honors in fitness from IDEA, The Health & Fitness Source (San Diego).
Mylrea, of Santa Cruz, Calif., was awarded the IDEA Fitness Instructor of the Year award for her work with 300 elementary school children who, without her efforts, would have no formalized physical education program. McNeney, vice president of operations for The Fitness Group in Vancouver, B.C., received the IDEA Program Director of the Year award for launching such programs as Kids - Fit For Life and Formula for Success.
* Kerry Givens of Flagship Athletic Club (Minneapolis), Debra Regan of Northwest Athletic Club (Minneapolis), Suzanne Cypert of Concourse Athletic Club in Denver, Stuart Godfrey of Athletic Club Northeast in Atlanta and Donna Wright of Athletic Club at Weston in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - Club Sports International (CSI) employees who were recognized for out-standing achievements. Given was named CSI General Manger of the Year; Regan received the CSI President's Award; Cypert was named CSI Rookie General Manager of the Year; Godfrey was awarded CSI Controller of the Year; and Wright was CSI Sales Director of the Year.
