MANALAPAN, NJ — RetroFitness Enterprises is expanding in the Northeast. The company opened two 12,000-square-foot units this summer: one in Wallington, NJ, and the other in Cherry Hill, NJ.
At the end of September, the Wallington facility had more than 800 new memberships compared to the typical sign-up of 150-250 new members monthly at most RetroFitness facilities, says Eric Casaburi, CEO of RetroFitness. The Cherry Hill club has also been well received, he says.
The company also converted a club in Methuen, MA, the first of several planned facilities in Massachusetts.
The franchisor has signed franchisee territories in the Washington, DC area and several markets in Pennsylvania. During the fourth quarter of 2006, RetroFitness will host club openings and pre-sales in four more towns in New Jersey, expanding into six additional cities in New Jersey in the first quarter of 2007.
