Health and fitness professionals in the spotlight

* Bristol, Pa.-based Nirvana Athletic & Fitness Center has promoted Cary Boyle to director of group fitness. She has been in the health and fitness business 20 years, working in all areas of the business-from management and sales to personal training and aerobics instructing. Her responsibilities will include hiring, training, scheduling, design, implementation and promotion for all group fitness classes at all of Nirvana's four club locations.

* Life Fitness has promoted Horst Stange to vice president of global commercial manufacturing. Since joining Life Fitness in 1992, Stange has played integral parts in the company's business, including manufacturing, quality and engineering. He has also served as Life Fitness's manager of quality assurance, director of global quality assurance and, most recently, vice president of global quality. In addition, he was instrumental in developing a quality system that resulted in the prestigious ISO 9001 certification for several of Life's manufacturing facilities.

* Tracey Hyatt-Bosman has joined the Bannockburn Club (Bannockburn, Ill.) as club manager. Before joining the club, she was adult program assistant director and a staff professional for Mid-Town Tennis Club in Chicago, where she was responsible for promoting and administering the early-morning programs. She also served as assistant tournament director for a national junior tournament. The Bannockburn Club is managed by Chicago-based Tennis Corp. of America (TCA).

* Reebok/CCS Fitness has added four new employees to its expanding team. Craig Carson, formerly an account manager at HEAD Sports, is the new customer service manager. Dorothy Brow, formerly a controller for a Denver-based commercial printer, has been named controller. Furthermore, the company's national sales division has hired Fred Elias, a veteran of the nutrition business, as the Southwest area business manager. Steve Burns, a manager for Gym Source, has been selected as the Mid-Atlantic area business manager.

* Nick Lembo has been named general manager of Northwest Athletic Club's newest facility in Maple Grove, Minn. His primary goals in this new position are to develop programs that the community wants and to deliver the same customer service provided at other Northwest Athletic Clubs, according to club officials. Lembo comes to Maple Grove with more than 15 years of experience operating upscale athletic facilities in North Carolina and Washington, D.C. The new $12 million Northwest Athletic Club-Maple Grove is owned and operated by the WellBridge Co. (formerly Club Sports International). It is the first Northwest Athletic Club to be built since 1991.
