CARLSBAD, CA — The new CEO of Liberty Fitness, Linda Burzynski, has an unusual platform: to lead the chain to grow in the competitive women's fitness concept category while she sheds 40 lbs. through Liberty Fitness' three-pronged fitness, nutrition and wellness program.

“It's unfortunate that so many women my age have their self-esteem tied to their body image,” said the 49-year-old Burzynski, noting her own personal struggles with weight. “Being CEO of Liberty Fitness presents an incredible opportunity to motivate women around the nation to feel beautiful inside and out. When women are healthier and feeling better about themselves, they make better mothers, better wives, better friends, better neighbors, better professionals — better everything. Who wouldn't want to be associated with a cause like that?”

Liberty Fitness, founded in 2002 by 25-year-old Liberty Harper, offers a 30-minute circuit training workout featuring six-level, adjustable hydraulic strength training and cardiovascular equipment, ACE-certified personal trainers, an exclusive online nutritional and health education Web site, and wellness amenities such as Sunlight far-infrared saunas and Hydromassage beds. With 61 locations open in 16 states, Burzynski said Liberty Fitness is well positioned to open 1,500 plus units in the next five years and grab a significant share of the high-growth women's only fitness industry.

“I have spent my career building successful franchising organizations by surrounding myself with talented people and building strong management teams that get results. Liberty Harper is a dynamic and successful woman in her own right. I look forward to working with her and the rest of the fabulous team at Liberty Fitness,” said Burzynski, referring to Mark Franklin, president, and Phil Mettra, vice president of marketing, former executives for Money Mailer, SuperCoups and Molly Maid.

Burzynski previously served as the CEO of CM IT Solutions and the president and COO of Molly Maid. Richard Cotton, chief exercise physiologist at MyExercisePlan.com and a consultant to Liberty Fitness on exercise programs and services, will serve as a personal coach to Burzynski.

In June, Burzynski oversaw the opening of a new prototype for all future Liberty Fitness locations.
