24 Hour Fitness Takes Off

The club chain launches a unique new niche fitness center in Las Vegas.

PLEASANTON, Calif.-Ever find yourself trapped at the airport with energy to burn and time to kill? Well, if you're stuck in McCarran International Air-port, your worries are over.

24 Hour Fitness has opened a 14,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art center at the Las Vegas airport, perfect for airline travelers and airport employees. The center features complete shower and locker room facilities; a steam room and dry sauna room for men and women; a cardiovascular area with entertainment systems; a complete selection of strength and cardio equipment; and a group exercise area. The facility can also store luggage, and airplane artifacts are part of its decor, which includes landing lights, propellers and first-class passenger seats with tray tables, where guests can relax and check on flight information.

Guests who have workout clothes can purchase a $15 "workout pack" that includes complete use of all facilities and a complimentary 24 Hour Fitness towel. Guests without workout clothes can buy a $25 "workout pack" that includes shorts, shirt, socks, towel and a one-time athletic shoe rental, plus complete use of the facility.
