Life Time Fitness submitted plans on Dec. 3 for a $25 million, 120,000-square-foot club in Roseville, CA, according to a newspaper report.
Could Life Time Fitness, Chanhassen, MN, be adding another club in California?
That is the latest from the Sacramento (CA) Business Journal, which is reporting that Life Time submitted plans on Dec. 3 for a $25 million, 120,000-square-foot club in Roseville, CA. Life Time spokesperson Jason Thunstrom told the newspaper that the proposal needs several approvals and is not a done deal. If approved, the club would likely open in 2014
Life Time had hoped to build a club in Roseville in 2008 and was in escrow for nearly 12 acres of property, according to the newspaper, but Life Time scaled back its expansion plans due to the economy. Although the newspaper reported that the Roseville club would mark the company's entry into California, Life Time received approval earlier this year to construct a 128,000-square-foot club in Laguna Niguel, CA, in Orange County, CA
In other news, Life Time announced it will host simultaneous 5K walk/run events in 30 cities across the country on Jan. 1 in what it is calling Commitment Day, marking the launch of a 365-day movement designed to unite Americans in making personal commitments to a healthier way of life. Founding corporate partners include Snap Fitness, Life Fitness and Matrix Fitness
The participating cities are Atlanta; Austin, TX; Chicago; Cincinnati; Cleveland; Columbus, OH; Dallas; Denver; Detroit; Houston; Indianapolis; Kansas City, MO; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Memphis, TN; Miami; Minneapolis; New Orleans; New York City; Omaha, NE; Philadelphia; Phoenix; Raleigh-Durham, NC; Salt Lake City; San Antonio; Seattle; St. Louis; Tulsa; and Washington, DC.
