Brookfield, WI — CheckFree has a new name and a new look. The company is now known as Fiserv, which acquired CheckFree in 2007 for $4.4 billion.

Fiserv also announced last month that the CheckFree Health and Fitness business unit will now be called Club Solutions. The health and fitness unit focuses on club management software and other services for the fitness industry, such as electronic payments. It has 120 employees and offices in Webster, TX; Dublin, OH; Norcross, GA; and Wokingham, England.

Aside from the Fiserv and Club Solutions brand changes, the company lost three employees in its health and fitness division over the past five months. Matt McKernan left in October as senior vice president and general manager of the division. He was replaced by Jim Parks.

Late last year, Reg Berka left as vice president of product management to work for NASA through a firm in the Houston area. Berka stayed with the company to train his replacement.

In January, Ron Poliseno left as the division's sales manager, and as of press time, the company had not yet filled his position. Poliseno says he wanted to spend more time with his family.

“I needed to cut back on the work day,” Poliseno says. “It was taking a toll on me physically. The company was very shocked. They didn't want to see me leave. It was a total personal decision on my part. The division grew at over 9 percent last year and generated strong profit. It was time for me to move on to new challenges.”

There is no relationship between the departures of the three employees and the rebranding of the company, says Jardon Bouska, a Fiserv division president.
