Fitness equipment manufacturer Precor, Woodinville, WA, has reported improved sales figures for third quarter 2011 compared to the same period last year.
Third quarter net sales for Precor, the fitness division of Amer Sports, Helsinki, Finland, were EUR56.8 million ($80 million) in the quarter compared to EUR52.6 million ($74.5 million) in third quarter 2010, according to financials released by the company this week.
Growth in the European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) markets and Asian Pacific markets made up for a slight decrease in sales in the Americas, which counts for 61 percent of Precor’s total business. Fitness equipment sales in the Americas were reported at EUR34.5 million ($50 million), which is 2 percent lower than third quarter figures for 2010.
While Precor’s third quarter year-on-year net sales figures were up 10 percent in local currencies, the company’s commercial business sales showed slightly more growth, increasing by 12 percent during third quarter 2011 compared to the same quarter last year.
