WOODINVILLE, WA -- Precor has sold ClubCom to Zoom Media & Marketing, a New York-based provider of targeted out-of-home media and promotional programs for brand advertisers in the United States and Canada. ClubCom, a provider of customized digital media networks for the fitness and bowling industries, had been part of Precor’s fitness division since 2004. Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.
ClubCom operates digital media networks in more than 1,600 venues globally, including extensive operations across the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and Australia. ClubCom broadcasts customized music video programming, television advertising, digital signage communications and venue content through overhead video displays, central sound systems and personalized TV screens attached to fitness equipment.
ClubCom will continue to operate under its current brand, and no changes in management or staff levels are anticipated.
Additionally, Zoom signed a partnership agreement with Precor, an Amer subsidiary based in Woodinville, WA, to continue to integrate ClubCom's product line with Precor's fitness equipment products sold to health clubs worldwide.
"We are thrilled to acquire a company that will provide us with such strong technical expertise, programming content, creative services and sizable growth opportunities," says Francois de Gaspe Beaubien, chairman and CEO of Zoom Media & Marketing. “Indeed, ClubCom will allow us to accelerate our growth in the digital out-of-home category across all of our media platforms and will supercharge our efforts in the fitness and bowling industries."
"We are excited to have a partner like Zoom Media to help us drive our core business of providing exceptional products to the fitness industry," says Paul Byrne, president of Precor. "Integrating ClubCom's entertainment systems into our equipment has allowed us to create an enhanced experience for our gym customers and their members, and we look forward to working with Zoom to continue to bring this type of innovation to the industry.
Zoom Media currently operates more than 1,250 digital billboards and more than 55,000 traditional advertising billboards in about 8,500 venues across the United States and Canada.
