Matrix Fitness Systems' U.S. third-quarter sales increased by 98 percent over the corresponding 2006 period, the company announced. Over the same time frame last year, global sales grew 55 percent.
Chris Clawson, president of Matrix, attributes the growth to the company's new products, including the Ascent Trainer, Incline Elliptical and the Hybrid Cycle.
“The market has responded extremely favorably to these new products, which enabled us to offer our customers cardio equipment with a wide variety of motion. That's important for helping them attract and retain members,” says Clawson. “The expanded line has produced increased revenue, and we have experienced a shift in our sales mix with a higher percentage of sales on our cardiovascular products over our popular strength-training product line.”
