SCHILLER PARK, IL -- Life Fitness, Schiller Park, IL, and LeMond Fitness Inc., Woodinville, WA, announced today that all outstanding disputes and litigation between the two companies involving LeMond Fitness’ RevMaster Pro group cycling bikes have been resolved.
In late May, Brunswick Corp., Lake Forest, IL, which owns Life Fitness, filed a civil lawsuit in Illinois seeking $3.9 million in damages related to the distribution of LeMond bikes. Life Fitness has had the exclusive rights to sell the RevMaster bikes since 2002.
According to the suit, Life Fitness received hundreds of customer complaints about RevMaster handle bars, seats and pedals since early 2008 and had spent more than $225,000 on warranty and service work because of the problems. Those issues, including Life Fitness’ claim that it lost customers during this time, prompted the company to terminate its distribution agreement with LeMond in May.
LeMond denied the allegations and filed a lawsuit in federal court seeking more than $1 million in damages for early termination of the distribution agreement.
Under the terms of the resolution announced today, Life Fitness will continue to sell the RevMaster group exercise bike and provide service and support for customers.Want to use this article? Click here for options!
