Life Fitness Merges With UK Operations

Life Fitness is merging its United Kingdom and continental European operations to promote further international growth. The newly integrated business will be led by Frank van de Ven, former managing director for continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will now serve as vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Life Fitness also recently received the Medical Fitness Association's Board of Directors Award for significant advancement in the medical fitness industry. Award recipients were chosen by a conference award review committee for outstanding dedication to a healthy lifestyle.

Intelligent Sports to Use No Limits Center for Pilot

Intelligent Sports Inc. and No Limits Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness recently partnered to provide fitness options for children. The No Limits facility in Irvine, CA, will serve as the pilot location for Intelligent Sports' youth fitness centers. The new facility will offer youth members personalized programs, along with access to No Limits' mixed martial arts classes. Intelligent Sports also is developing several interconnected upright and recumbent bikes that will be compatible with popular video games and will allow children to race against each other on a projected screen.

CheckFree Joins Gold's Gym Vendor Program

The CheckFree Health & Fitness business unit, now part of Fiserv Inc., has joined the Gold's Gym national vendor program, the company recently announced. CheckFree is now a preferred provider of club-management software, electronic funds transfer, and credit-card processing and outsourced billing services to Gold's Gym franchisees and corporate-owned facilities.

Taraflex Installed At Community College

Taraflex Sports Flooring by Gerflor installed a new 30,000-square-foot maple design floor in Sullivan County Community College's (NY) Paul Gerry Fieldhouse. Three Taraflex flooring products were used in the fieldhouse, which serves as home to athletic competitions, intramural programs and physical education classes.

Futrex Adds Product Training to Its Web Site

Futrex Inc. recently posted interactive product training presentations on its Web site. The manufacturer of near infrared body composition analyzers has added interactive training presentations for the FUTREX-6100, FUTREX-5500 and FUTREX-62. The presentations are designed to aid new and existing Futrex owners to get maximum values from their analyzers.

Mondo Flooring Installed At Military Bases

Mondo's Super X track flooring will be installed at several U.S. military bases. Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX, and Keesler Air Force Base in Gulfport, MS, installed 10-mm Super X tracks in January. Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC, will install a 14-mm Super X track this month.
