IRVINE, CA -- Former Nautilus CEO Gregg Hammann has been appointed global CEO of Power Plate International.
Hammann took over as Nautilus’ president and CEO in 2003 and added the chairman’s role a year later. He resigned from Nautilus in 2007 after the company experienced declining sales.
“I’m very enthusiastic about joining Power Plate International and truly excited about the opportunity to help the team achieve its goals on a global basis,” Hammann said in a statement. “I have personally used Power Plate machines for many years, and it has become my primary method for strength and stability training. I have seen the benefits of this machine firsthand, and it is undoubtedly the future of fitness training.”
Hammann has also served as chief customer officer of North America and president of Latin America and Canada for Levi Strauss & Co. and held other management positions at The Coca-Cola Co., Famous Footwear, The Rayovac Corp. and Procter & Gamble.
“We are excited to have an executive of Gregg’s caliber lead Power Plate International,” Bob Williams, a director of Power Plate International and a partner with J.H. Whitney & Co., the company’s majority shareholder, said in the statement. “Gregg brings the ability to create dramatic growth along with a strong industry background, which is just what we need at this juncture in the company’s development.”
