SAN JOSE, CA — Product sales in the sports and fitness nutrition market are expected to reach $36 billion by 2010, according to a recent report by Global Industry Analysts Inc. The United States and Japan dominate the world sports and nutrition market, collectively accounting for more than 75 percent of sales.
With a more than 81 percent share of global sales, the food and drink market represents the leading product group for the sports and nutrition market, according to the report. Within foods and drinks, the sports/energy bar market represents the fastest growing segment while the sports/energy drinks market is the largest.
