ISSA, Sportwall Form Partnership

The International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), a fitness certification company, has teamed with Sportwall International, a manufacturer of interactive fitness systems, to provide installation and training on equipment for facilities at the local level. A select group of ISSA-certified fitness trainers will help the facility owners who have purchased Sportwall equipment to install the product and train their staff to make the best use of the equipment.

Expresso Fitness Bikes Get Upgrade

Last month, all Expresso Fitness bikes received software upgrades, including the Expresso Chases program used with the Expresso Fitness S2u bike that was launched in October. The program creates a video game-like experience for users. With the launch of Expresso Chases, the company will hold special contests for its members of health clubs with an Internet connection. Members can participate in the 1,000,000th point and 50,000th mile contests.

Life Fitness Cardio Receives Award

Life Fitness received a 2007 body LIFE award for its cardiovascular machines for the seventh consecutive year. body LIFE is a fitness publication that is distributed in eight European countries. Life Fitness was chosen for the cardio equipment award by 500 randomly selected gym and fitness club owners who were interviewed and completed a computer-aided questionnaire. The survey measured customer satisfaction and publicity in seven award categories: cardio, strength, indoor cycling, solarium, software, education and consulting.

Stott Pilates Adds Two To Management Team

Stott Pilates appointed two new members to its management team. Holly Henderson will serve as senior vice president, marketing, and Kerrie Lee Brown was named vice president, communications. Henderson has worked previously in product management and marketing. Brown has 10 years of experience in the health and fitness industry as a journalist, magazine consultant, motivational speaker, writer and editor. Brown was previously editor-in-chief of Oxygen Women's Fitness magazine.
